“I Just Thought They Sucked”

Wow, Iverson couldn’t make things more entertaining, and give more material for bloggers like me, if he tried.
Yes, I already wrote that Iverson complained about his role after one game, but now he’s opened his mouth again. And believe it or not, something stupid came out.
Apparently, among other things, Iverson stated that he didn’t think that Memphis was rebuilding when he signed with them. WHAT?? You thought a 24 win team would try to challenge for a Championship by adding you? For the record, he did not say “I just thought they sucked”, but might as well have. I don’t know how else to explain his ignorance. Apparently he doesn’t follow much basketball if he had no idea Memphis was rebuilding when they signed him.
“Iverson believes his comments have caused a stir mostly because of his long history of provocative opinions and actions, from his infamous disdain for practice to a few lesser stirs in Denver and Detroit last season.”
From ESPN
Or perhaps they’ve caused a stir because they’re incredibly stupid and no one can believe they are coming from a 34 year old guy who’s been in the league for as long as he has.
Charles Oakley took Iverson to task when he talked during the Raptors game against Detroit, saying Iverson just “doesn’t get it”. That’s the understatement of the year.
Now, keep in mind, that this is a player who went to one of the most prestigious universities in the entire world. I’m starting to wonder about the level of education some of these athletes are getting while going to college. If I’m Iverson, I’m thinking that someone may want to look into this.

And awesome Raptor fans wanted Jose traded and or benched in favor of AI.
I am not sure if I should be glad of being able to do the “I told you so”, or sad that people still don’t get it.
